At the Irish National Short Course Championships held at the NAC in Dublin (19 - 22 November), Leander swimmers again did the Club proud.
Sycerika McMahon was Ulster’s top performer, winning gold and setting 9 new Irish Junior Records in the 100m and 400m freestyle, 100m and 200m breaststroke, 100m, 200m and 400m Individual Medley. Sycerika set 1 senior Irish record in the 200m breaststroke and had 13 Ulster records. Sycerika also won the silver medal in the 50m breaststroke and 200m freestyle.
For the men, Craig Meek came 2nd in the 100m freestyle and also won bronze in the 50m freestyle. He also went 49.6 seconds for the first time in his 100m relay leg.
Iain Chisholm came 3rd in the men’s 100m freestyle and 2nd in the 200m butterfly.
Ryan Wray took bronze in the 400m individual medley.
Matthew Harkness¸Alex Stoney, Amy May Garvey, Rebecca Barry and Ashley Peirado all made personal best times at the competition. (Conor Donnelly was unwell and unable to compete)
