(15/7/2010) Bronze for Sycerika at Junior European Championships in Helsinki.
At day 1 at the Junior European Championships in Helsinki, Sycerika McMahon made 2 finals - the 200 fly and the 400im. She set a new Ulster senior and junior record to finish 6th in 400 im in a time 4.51.03. Sycerika was the first of the younger age group home.
In day 2, Sycerika goes one better winning bronze in 400 free, again setting a new Ulster junior and senior record in the process with a time of 4.15.92 - a fantastic achievement. Sycerika is the second Irish swimmer to ever win medals at this very tough competition. We wish her well for the remaining events.

Matt Bell has qualified and been selected to represent Ireland at the Paralympics World Championships in Holland in August. We wish him every success.

Congratulations to Sycerika on achieving 4 qualifying times for the Commonwealth games at last weekend’s Nationals. In so doing, Sycerika broke 3 Ulster records - in the 50 and 200m Breaststroke and in the 400m IM.
Iain Chisholm equalled his Personal Bests and made Semi-finals in 50, 100, 200m free and 100, 200m fly.
Christian Bennison achieved 100% Personal Bests in 200m free, 400m free, 100m free.
Rebecca Barry, Matthew Bell, Conor Donnelly, Matthew Harkness, Anne Mc Ilveen and Ryan Wray also competed at the event.
